Collective

Abide Collective is a high-end custom furniture company.  Abide Collective specializes in finish work and high end custom woodworking.

Building Contractors

Abide Collective was founded in 2017. Championed by a father son team with a combined experience of 40+ years.

As building contractors facilitates the design and production for remodeling and restoration projects.  As a company, we work with a number of talented tradespeople, artists, and designers to provide well executed solutions for our clients.  

No job is too big or too small. We are happy to help and solve problems.

We pride ourselves on our workmanship through a high level of skill, reliability, and enthusiasm. We like to solve problems with unique solutions. Because we are a small firm we deliver quality services with the flexibility to meet any client needs. Abide Building Contractors LLC is a fully insured general contracting company.

Our Team

Mark McDonnell

Mark McDonnell is a Master Carpenter and has been a high-end re-modeler running a general contracting business for over 30 years. A finish carpenter by trade, His custom work has spanned all over Saint Louis, Chicago, Colorado, Las Vegas, Montana, and Maryland. In the past 5 years or so he started creating one-off furniture pieces.

Mark's design approach begins with the question to the client;  "Please define the project and the budget?"

James McDonnell

James has grown up in the business and has worked with his father one way or another since birth. After college, studying ceramics with a focus on porcelain and sculpture, he moved to Brooklyn, NY to work for industrial designers from Pratt Institute, creating furniture prototypes for firms such as Gift of Design. While in NYC, James worked with a master cabinet maker, learning the process and skills to create and work with wood, with a focus on finishing.

After NYC, James has continued working with many St. Louis industry leaders with a wealth of knowledge and a strong network of the best-in-class collaborators for projects of any size.
